HGV Training Comparison

Do you want to become a driver? It can be very exciting to be a driver of a large goods vehicle. You are able to travel around going to different places every day in some cases. Depending on the company you are with you might drive all over the UK and Europe. It is not always the best career choice, but there are definite perks depending on the company you join. Given the fun you can have being a driver of HGV vehicles you may be ready to get the proper training. You probably have a lot of questions with regards to the training, so we will try to help you get some of those answered below.

When you begin to look at HGV training, you will want to compare the different prices. Prices for the training can differ from company to company. There are quite a few companies out there, about 1,100, which offer proper DSA certification. These same companies also have membership to the HSA and FTA, which are transit authorities. The accreditation these companies have tell you they are accepted by fleet operators and by UK regulations as proper facilities for the driver training you are about to undertake. They also tend to follow regulations with regards to fair practises meaning they will offer competitive pricing to ensure you obtain the training you need at a fair price.

During a comparison it is important to consider more than price. Certainly your funding amount will have a big impact on your decision, but you should consider more than just the price. The history of the company for example is a good place to start. Is the company financially sound? Does the company have a solid history? A company that has trained drivers for 20 years probably does something right regarding training. A  company that started two years ago and asks for half the training costs or double the training costs of the other facility is probably something to be worried about.

There are unfortunately scams on the internet with regards to training. You pay for the training where you are given online tests and training, but when it comes to the practical training over the theory training you discover the site never intended on following through on their promises. The point is you should be concerned regarding the scams and go with companies you can fully trust to ensure proper driver training.
